Our Mission: To give students the skills they need to enjoy music for a lifetime...At Music Matters, the largest private music school in the Charlotte and Matthews area, we are dedicated to providing the best possible music education in a fun and safe environment. Whether the student is a professional, aspiring professional, or hobbyist, our experienced staff (over 150 years combined) is able to custom tailor music lessons to suit the students needs.

• Programs:
  Private Lessons: Private lessons are available for the following instruments; electric and acoustic guitar, drum set, snare drum, piano, bass guitar, voice, all saxophones, trumpet, tuba, trombone, french horn, violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, clarinet, and mandolin. All private lessons are one on one and the instructor custom tailors the curriculum to fit the student's interests and needs. The minimum requirement for a private lesson is one 30 minute lesson once per week for a monthly tuition fee of $90.00. Music Matters does not charge registration fees, we only ask that students give 30 days notice of withdrawal from their lessons or classes.
• Rock Band 101: Rock Band 101 teaches students how to rehearse a band, how to play with other musicians in a rock band setting and is completely hands-on. Students learn and perform songs from each decade beginning with the 1960's and continuing through to current rock styles and trends. Students are also encouraged and taught how to develop original songs. This class meets once per week for 50 minutes for a monthly tuition fee of $70.00, with a $10.00 per month discount available if the student is also enrolled in a private lesson.

Students at New Town Elementary participated in an after-school beginner guitarclass during the school's P.E.A.K. program. The class met once a week at the school for 6 weeks, on the last day of which the students performed a song together! We look forward to returning in February for some more music-making fun with more guitar classes and a drum ensemble class!!
